Today, we had a wonderful "afternoon tea" at school but it wasn't at about five o'clock. We had it during lunch break. We served the tea in porcelain tea pots and drank it in porcelain cups again.

Bugün okulda harika bir “Beş Çayı” içtik ancak saat beşte değildi. Çay partimizi öğle arasında düzenledik. Çayımızı porselen çaydanlıklarda servis edip, yine porselen fincanlarda içtik.

While we were having our snacks with our tea, we had a chat.

Çaylarımızı içip, atıştırmalıklarımızı yerken sohbet ettik.

We talked about English afternoon tea, and also our own tea habits because tea is consumed very much in Turkey. Also, we talked about our plans for our project.

“İngiliz Beş Çayı” ve Türkiye’de çay çok tüketildiği için kendi çay alışkanlıklarımız hakkında konuştuk. Ayrıca projemiz ile ilgili planlarımızdan bahsettik.

All students did research and collected documents about the "Five o'clock Tea Ceremony" . YA. KE. reviewed and edited them all and prepared a presentation.

Bütün öğrencilerimiz “Beş Çayı” hakkında araştırma yaptılar ve doküman topladılar. YA. KE. Hepsini gözden geçirdi, düzenledi ve bir sunum hazırladı.

Yesterday, we had a chat about Five O'clock Tea Ceremony with our young learners this time. After the conversation about the topic, they drew something about snacks and materials in the afternoon tea. We had a very enjoyable drawing and coloring activity.

Dün “Beş Çayı Seremonisi” hakkında bu kez daha küçük öğrencilerimizle sohbet ettik. Konu hakkında görüştükten sonra “Beş Çayında” tüketilebilecek atıştırmalıklar ve kullanılabilecek materyallerle ilgili çizim yaptık. Çok eğlenceli bir çizim ve boyama etkinliği gerçekleştirdik.

One of our seventh grade students helped hang the materials because he was taller.

Boyu daha uzun olduğu için yedinci sınıf öğrencilerimizden biri materyalleri asmamıza yardım etti.

We prepared a board with their drawings.

Öğrencilerimizin çizimleriyle bir pano hazırladık.

One of our eight graders cooked a great dessert for us. It's Quince Dessert. It's a Turkish dessert with sherbet (syrup). It is very light because it's made of fruit. You can add cream, ground pistachios or hazelnuts on top of it. You can serve it plain, also. Enjoy your meal.

Sekizinci sınıf öğrencilerimizden biri bizim için harika bir tatlı pişirdi. “Ayva Tatlısı”. O şerbetli bir Türk tatlısıdır. Meyveden yapıldığı için oldukça hafiftir. Üstüne kaymak, dövülmüş Antep fıstığı veya fındık ekleyebilirsiniz. Sade de servis edebilirsiniz. Afiyet olsun!
